Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show you how to clear your chat history with a particular contact, when using the WhatsApp messaging application on a Microsoft Lumia 535.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone

   Once the phone is activated, you'll see the lock screen

   Swipe the screen up and you'll enter the home screen.

   We now need to find the WhatsApp tile

   Mine is located at the bottom of the home screen.

   If you have not pinned your WhatsApp tile to the home screen, you'll need to swipe across to the left and find it in the app menu.

   Wherever you have it located, find it and press the tile

   This will allow us to enter the application

   To do that we can enter a message or we can go to "favorites". You can see we have one favorite here and a phone number. If you have your contact defined by name, then you'll see a name in here and you will also see a profile picture most of the time. Our contact does not have a profile picture.

   Press anywhere on that section, either on the profile photo or the phone number

   This will bring us into conversations that we are having with them

    We want to enter their profile

    To do that we need the phone number or name at the top of the screen. You can see the white phone number up here at the top left-hand corner.

    It's quite hard to enter because it's quite secret

    You wouldn't really know this unless you kind of end up just pressing everything on the screen. It's not very clear that this is the way to enter their profile. We need to press that number.

    Once in the profile, we need to press the ellipsis button at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen

    At the bottom, you can see "clear chat history"

    We can clear all of the chat histories, we can clear chat history older than 30 days, or older than 6 months. This may be if you want to keep the more recent conversations, but you want to clear the very old stuff because you just don't need it anymore.

How to delete Nokia Lumia WhatsApp chat messages?

I want to delete all my WhatsApp chat from my Nokia Lumia 620

   You will have to follow the tutorial and delete all of the chats one by one

   .

   Ensure that when you delete the chats, you select "All".

   For group chats, tap and hold the group chat that you need to delete

   .

   Tap on "exit group" and "exit". Tap and hold the group chat again and select "delete" from the menu. Confirm it by selecting "delete".

   • Note: if you are an administrator of a chat group, you may want to remove members from the group prior to leaving. Tap on the group that you want to edit. Tap on "Edit". Remove contacts by using the "Remove from Group" option. Confirm it by tapping on "Remove". Then, exit the group and delete it as described above.
