Introduction

Today we are going to be teaching you to do something that you may know how to do but have problems with. That something is cleaning your glasses. Some people may have soft cloths that they use and others may have spray on cleaners, many times however those things are not realistic.

If you have glasses in conjunction with children or dogs, you may never have clean glasses
.
I have both, and at least three times per day a child or an animal sticks a nose, finger, or whatever onto my glasses. They get knocked off of my head and even sneezed on sometimes. I wash my glasses with non-abrasive dish soap and my hands. Obviously, you want to make sure your hands are clean first. We have a video on how to wash your hands if you want to check up on that.

Turn on the water
.
The hotter the water you use the better. Hot water will help remove oils that have been deposited onto your lenses or frames by little fingers, sweat, or residues left by other cleaning methods.

Wet your glasses
.
You don't have to drench them, but get them wet enough so that you can wash them easily. If your glasses are really dirty you may want to pre-wash them with just water to avoid scratching the lenses with any dirt.

Add a small drop of dishwashing liquid to one lens
.
This doesn't require a large amount and you will divide this between both lenses and the frame. Ideally, you would use a drop no larger than the tip of a regular sized cotton swab.

Wash the glasses with your fingers
.
Rub the parts of the glasses with your fingers thoroughly. Make sure to go over every part on both the front and back sides.

Rinse well
.
Rinse the glasses well with water and your hands while making small circular motions or by holding them under the water. When your glasses are clean you may be able to see small circular drops of water on the lenses. Those drops of water indicate that the lens is nice and clean.

Dry your glasses off
.
In order to dry your glasses all you need is a paper napkin. Dab each lens and blot off any excess water on the frame. Do a quick visual inspection to make sure you haven't missed a spot and you're done. Thank you for choosing VisiHow.
