Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video we are going to show you how to choose between receiving Alerts or Notifications for Reminders from the Calendar application on an HTC One M8.

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone

Once the phone is activated, we'll see the Lock screen
.
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards.

Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the Home screen and at the bottom there are icons

It is in this area that we need to focus now because we want to open the Applications folder.

To do that we need the icon at the bottom of the Home screen and in the middle, we can see that there is a grid of white dots

Press down on this icon and that will open up our Applications folder.

In this folder we need to find the Calendar application

We can do that by looking for an icon. At the top of the screen, we can see that there is an icon of a Calendar and underneath it says the word "Calendar." Press down on this icon and it will open up our Calendar application.

We now need to find the Settings menu and to do that we need the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

We can see that there are three small, white squares in a vertical line. Press down on the icon and it will open up our menu.

We want this option that says the word "Settings." Press down on the word "Settings" and it will open up our "Settings" menu

Let's scroll down now until we get to this section that says "REMINDER SETTINGS." We are looking for the option that says "Set alerts & notifications."

Press down on this option and we can see that we have three more options
.
This option allows us to choose how we are alerted about Reminders from the Calendar application. We can receive an "Alert" which is sound or it's going to be vibrations. Alternatively, we can just receive the status of our Notification which will be silent. It will be a visual Notification at the top of the status bar, or we can turn the option "Off" completely and receive no Notifications about Reminders. We can see this blue circle is located here and that means that this option is currently selected. If we want to change that just press down on any one of these options here.

Press down on "Status bar notification" and now we can see that underneath "Set alerts & notifications" the words "Status bar notification" have appeared

This signals that we have successfully changed the option.

Press down on the option again and we can see the blue circle has moved into the position that was selected
