Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to chat with a contact in the Viber application when using a Microsoft Lumia 535.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right hand side of the phone

   Once the phone is activated, you will see the lock screen

   Swipe the lock screen up and this will take us to the home screen.

   On the home screen, we need to find the Viber tile

   .

   Mine is located here. You can see that there is a purple tile background and in the middle, there is the Viber logo which is a white speech bubble with a white phone inside. If you have not pinned the Viber tile to your home screen, then swipe left and find it in the Apps menu. Once you have located the Viber tile - wherever it may be - press down on it so that we can enter the application.

   Once the application has loaded, we want to go into the "chats" section

   .

   You will need to see the word "chats" at the top left hand corner of the screen and it should be in white text. If you are not in the chats section, swipe left or right until you arrive there.

   You can see that it currently says "No messages yet"; we have not created any chats

   .

   What we want to do if we want to start chatting with a contact is add them to our chats section. To do that, we need to press this icon at the bottom of the screen. It is a white circle with a white plus sign or cross in it. This is the add icon. Let's press down on this now and it is going to show us our contacts.

   We only have one contact, that is why there is only one contact here

   You will probably have a longer list of contacts. You will then need to choose the contact you want to chat with. Press down on their profile photo which should be here; you can also press down on their name.

   It will put a check mark in it

   There is a big white check mark and the profile photo is now black.

   Let's select "Done" at the bottom in the black outlined rectangle

   Press done and now it is going to start a chat with this contact.

   We can see at the bottom, we have a big white text bar and it says "type new message"

   Press down on that bar.

    We can see that the keypad has been activated and is now there

    Now we can type as anybody would type a message in any other application. We are just going to say "Hello".

    When we are ready, we can press the menu icon here, it is the three white dots in a line in the bottom right hand corner of the screen

    It is in the purple bar. Press down on that.

    That is going to show you all these different options here

    There are four circles, each with symbols inside; these are your options. You have "call", "voice", "attach" or "send". If you want to just send the message, then we can do that by pressing this far left icon over here. The white circle with a white speech bubble inside and the three horizontal lines indicating movement. This is going to send the message.

    This message will now be sent

    You can see here, it says "hello" and it has the day. If it is in the past, it will have the date for different times and dates in the past.

    It has our profile photo here, even though we have not added a photo yet

    It has our message, our time and the word "delivered" which means that it has been successfully delivered to our contact

    If you cannot see this, it means that it has not yet been delivered to a contact. You can continue to send messages like this to any of your contacts. This is how you create a chat with any contact you desire and this is how we can chat with them when using the Viber application.
