Questions and Answers
Hi Thor, I'm a longtime journo with a DMC--TZ20 but without my usual charger needing removal of the battery?
Can I charge the battery in place in the camera via my brother's compatible cord from his own different model Lumix which links from a wall plug to the camera. Or direct from the camera to my laptop USB port. Seems to work with one or other but no charge indicator I can see so I have no idea which gives quickest charge. Usually USB ports give only very slow trickle to accessories in my experience. Is there a setting via the menu to show charge status on the back screen. Thank you very much. Charge TZ20 battery while in the camera via a compatible cord from another Lumix?
I thought I had posted to Thor but was taken back to video, which just covers normal charging procedure which I have done many times.. I explained in the post I thought had gone that I have no access to my own charger as in a different location recuperating after a big heart op. I have access to my brother's charger and compatible cord which charges his model Lumix from a wall plug direct to the camera with the battery staying in the camera. Can I do the same? Or does it have to be via the USB port in my laptop. And how do I know when it is charging -- can see no indicator. My question details that my problem is different from the normal charging procedure which I have done many times. Read the question details and all is explained. I have tried: Brother's plug-in wall charger for a different mode Lumix via a compatible cord. Also direct with same cord from laptop USB port to camera. One or other (or both) did manage to get about a quarter charge, now depleted. Which should I use? I think it was caused by: Packed up from hospital without own normal charger which needs battery removed from camera etc etc
