    To begin, open the VisualBoyAdvance emulator

    In this video, an icon for the emulator is on the desktop. You may have it saved in a different location.

    When the emulator has been opened, click "Tools" in the menu at the top of the window

    Then, click "Customize" in the menu
    .
    In the pop-up window that appears, look for the "FileSaveGame" with numbers. You may need to scroll through the list in order to find these commands. The default combinations are "Shift" + "F1" - "Shift" + "F12". These shortcuts save the state for the 1st - 12th slots, respectively.

    To do this, click "FileSaveGame01". In the box to the right, you can see that the shortcut is "Shift" + "F1".
