Steps

    To begin, open the emulator
    .
    There is an icon for PPSSPP on the desktop in this video. You may have the program saved in another location.

    When the emulator has been opened, click "Settings" on the right side of the window

    When the menu opens, click "Controls" on the left side of the window
    .
    The second heading on the right side of the window is "On-screen touch controls". The first menu item underneath this heading is "On-screen touch controls".

    Make sure that "On-screen touch controls" is checked

    Click the next option, "Edit touch control layout..."

    When the layout opens, you will see a set of options on the left side of the screen. The first option is "Move".

    You can click and drag each on-screen button around the window

    Click "Resize"

    Click and drag an on-screen button

    The dimensions of the selected button will change.

    Click "Visibility"
    .
    Clicking "Visibility" will take you to a new screen where you can select and deselect various boxes.

    Uncheck a box to make the button invisible on the layout screen

    For this tutorial, let's uncheck "Analog stick", "X", "L", "SELECT", and "START".

    After you have made changes in the "Visibility" window, click "Back" in the top-left corner of the window
    .
    On the layout screen, you cannot see the buttons that are no longer checked. Even though the buttons are not visible, they do still work.

    In this case, if you click where the "X" used to be, the emulator will recognize the command for the "X" button
    .
    Nevertheless, the button is not shown on the screen.

    Click "Reset" on the left side of the window
    .
    This will reset the controls back to the default setting. "Reset" will not, however, make buttons reappear. If you have unchecked boxes in "Visibility", you will need to reenter that area to check them again. Set these options according to your preference, and then enjoy a game.
