Steps

To start, unlock your phone by swiping with your finger
.
2
It's a grey icon with gears.
3
Scroll down and open General
.
4
Scroll down again and tap on Keyboard
.
5
6
I already have 3 keyboards set up, English, Russian and Emoji, but I can also add a new keyboard
.
Tap on Add New Keyboard.
7
Here you see the language choices on the phone
.
There are several types of English, Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Estonian, Filipino, all of the languages, so let's choose Japanese.
8
Japanese is divided into two types so I will choose the first one
.
Now there is a check mark next to it, click done.
9
Now there are four types of keyboards set up on my phone
.
10
Tap the home button to go home, then go to your notes and tap on New.
11
The keyboard is still in English, but I can change it by pressing on the globe icon
.
12
After pressing it once it switches to my Russian keyboard
.
13
If I press and hold, it will let me choose between all four keyboards, so I can choose Japanese
.
14
Here's the Japanese keyboard

If I press the globe icon again it will take me back to the Russian keyboard.
