   To begin, unlock the phone by pressing the top right-hand-side power button

   Swipe upwards one time to get to the home screen

   From here, we need to access the settings menu, which we can do one of two ways. Let's look at the first way.

   Tap on the Apps menu icon

   The icon is a gray box with a set of white squares inside of it, and it says "Apps" below it. Ours is located in the bottom right-hand side of our home screen. Let's look at the second way to access the settings menu.

   Swipe down from the top of the screen, which opens the notifications bar

   In the top right-hand side of the notifications bar, we can see a little white gear-shaped icon.

   Tap on the gear icon one time to open up the "Settings"

   Let's change the date and time format.

   Tap "General"

   .

   It's the fourth button across the top, after "Networks", "Sound" and "Display". "General" has a small, white, gear-shaped icon.

   Scroll down to the "SYSTEM" section

   The first setting has an icon of a clock in front of a calendar, and says "Date & time".

   Tap one time on "Date & time"

   Here, we can set the date and time or change the format that they appear in. At the bottom, there are two options. The first one, which we have activated, is to "Use 24-hour format", which is a format for time. For example, one o'clock pm will appear as "13:00".

   Tap the box next to "Use 24-hour format" to change the setting

   If we remove the checkmark in this manner, one o'clock pm will appear as "1:00 PM". If we tap it again, it will change back to 24-hour format.

    Tap "Select date format" at the bottom of the screen

    Our current format is date, then month, then year.

    Tap a circle next to any option to change it

    .

    Let's change it to month, then date, then year, by tapping on the empty radio button next to that option. Now the date will look like "07/08/2015". We can also change it to year, then month, then date. Choose the formats according to preference.

    Close the screen and go back to the home screen by pressing the bottom center button on the phone one time
