Edited by Thor, Rushell, Jen M
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to change the sound profile on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on top of the phone
.
2
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen
.
3
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and hold down until the two padlock icons appear at the bottom
.
Then swipe up.
4
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen
.
At the bottom, we will see a row of several icons. What we need to do now is find the Settings menu. To do that, we can swipe down the Notification panel.
5
Press down at the top of the screen, hold, then swipe down
.
This will open the Notification panel.
6
We want to tap on the white cog icon at the top right-hand corner
.
This is the Settings icon.
7
We can see the word "Settings" at the top left corner of the screen
.
8
Let's scroll down to the "PHONE" section
.
It says "PHONE" in the gray bar.
9
We are looking for the "Sound & notification" section
.
Next to those words is an icon of a speaker emitting some sound waves.
10
Press down on this, and it will take us into the "Sound & notification" menu
.
11
At the top is the "GENERAL" section, indicated by the word "GENERAL" in the gray bar
.
12
Directly beneath that is "Sound profile"
.
If we press down on this, a new screen of options will appear.
13
"Normal" is currently selected, indicated by the green circle on the right side
.
This is the standard, normal profile. Normal sounds will work as they have been selected to.
14
With the second option "Vibrate", the phone will be silent
.
It won't make any noise, but it is going to vibrate. This makes a little bit of noise. There's no sound, but we will hear the vibrations.
15
The final option is "Silent"
.
That means it won't vibrate or make any sound at all. Choose the desired option by tapping on one of the three choices.
16
It will then take us out of that menu screen, and the word under "Sound profile" will have changed to whatever profile was chosen
.
17
If we press down on "Sound profile" again, those options will appear, and it will show that "Vibrate" is the option we have selected
.
18
Now, we'll tap on "Normal" to choose that
.
19
The word "Normal" will appear under "Sound profile"
.
There is also another quick way to do this. Going into the Settings is the longer way to do it, but it can be done a lot quicker.
20
Press the volume button on the right-hand side of the phone
.
When we do this, it is going to bring up a bar. It will disappear very quickly, so we might have to press down on the button again to bring it back.
21
Once we press the volume button, this setting will appear
.
22
There is a phone icon at the top left corner
.
23
It does disappear very quickly. Just press the volume button again to bring it back.
24
Now, press on the phone icon
.
25
We can scroll through the different sound profiles by tapping in the same location
.
The icons will change as we do this. The phone icon represents normal. The image of the front of a cell phone with some wavy lines around it represents vibrate. The speaker with an "x" beside it represents silent.
26
Notice as we change the sound profiles by tapping through the different icons that the word under "Sound profile" changes as we change the different profiles
.
This is a very quick way of changing this setting and changing the sound profile. However, both ways work just as well.
27
This concludes our tutorial on how to change the sound profile on an HTC One M8
.
