Edited by Thor, Robert, Eng, Jen M
Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to change the text size of captions using the YouTube application on the HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards
.
Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen and multiple icons at the bottom. It is one of these icons that we now need to access to open up the applications folder.
3
Tap the icon that looks like a grid of white dots, that is located at the bottom of the screen in the middle
.
4
Find the YouTube application, and tap on it once to open the application
.
The YouTube application icon looks like a red button with a white triangle inside, with "YouTube" written underneath. Your YouTube application may be in a different position in this folder, therefore you will need to find it.
5
Now, we need to find the settings menu by tapping on the icon in the top-right that looks like three small black dots in a vertical line
.
This will open up a small menu. In this example, there are issues with the internet connection, but it will not affect the tutorial at all.
6
Tap on "Settings", which is the first option in the menu
.
Now we will have our settings menu open.
7
Here we will see our captions menu.
8
Tap on the first option, which is "Text Size" with the word "Normal" underneath top open up more options
.
This indicates that "Normal" is the option that is currently selected. At the top, we can see how the captions look and the text size that is being used for the captions, and we can edit and change these settings.
9
Tap on one of the options available for the text size
.
In this example, we'll tap on "Very Large". Now we can see how big the captions are, and underneath "Text Size" it now says "Very Large".
10
Tap on "Text Size" again to change the size
.
11
Now, we'll tap on "Very Small"
.
As we can see, the captions are now very small and barely visible. We can change these to our preferences and needs.
12
This concludes our tutorial on how to change the text size of captions using the YouTube application on the HTC One M8
