Steps

    You need to open a screen-recording video clip in timeline
    .
    For this tutorial, there is a screen recording of typing text rather slowly.

    In order to change the speed of the clip, hover the cursor over the end of the video in the timeline

    Then, press the "option" key on the keyboard
    .
    This will show the time icon.

    Now, you can change the speed of the clip by clicking and dragging the end of the clip
    .
    As you move the cursor, the speed will change. Speed is measured in percentages. You can also see that the number of seconds being taken away. For this tutorial, let's choose to have an 8-second clip at 268 % speed.

    Play the clip again

    You will notice that it has sped up, but is still relatively slow. You can make additional adjustments according to your preference.
