   Press the lock button on the right side of the phone to turn the screen on and display the lock screen

   Swipe from left to right and enter a passcode or, if the option is enabled, press a finger on the Home button to use the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone

   Find and tap the Skype icon to open the Skype application

   The icon has a blue background with the Skype logo on it in white, which is a circle with a blue "S" in it. The app will either open to the recent contacts screen or the sign in screen.
