Steps

In order to change the screen mode, you will need to have your phone unlocked

It should be on the home screen.

You can reach the home screen by pressing the home button

Then, swipe down from the top of the screen

This will open up the notification panel.

Now, tap on a gear-shaped icon in the upper-right side

This will open the "Settings" panel.

Tap on the "Display" option in "Quick settings"

Once you've tapped on "Display", tap on the second-to-last option, "Screen mode"

You will be given a choice of four different options.

You can tap on the first option, "Adaptive display"
.
This automatically adjusts and shifts the display.

Tap on the second option, "AMOLED cinema"

This changes the screen colors a bit. In this video, a lot of brightness will be added to the reddish-orange vase.

Now, tap on "AMOLED photo"

The screen will darken up a bit.

Tap again on "AMOLED cinema"

In this video, there is a big change in the vase on the left. Notice how the entire picture brightens.

Tao on "Adaptive display"

The screen will be dimmed just a bit. "Adaptive display" might be preferred. If you're interested in conserving battery power, "Basic" is the best one to choose. However, to get the most out of your device, select "Adaptive display".

When you've finished, you can press the home button

You will go back to the home screen.
