In order to change the lock-screen security type, we are going to need to tap the gear-shaped Settings icon on the home screen of the phone.
If we don't have the Settings icon, we simply swipe down from the top. We'll open the notifications panel.
We swipe down from the top again. We will see the full notification area and the gear-shaped Settings icon.
We tap the Settings icon once. We will be taken to the main "Settings" panel.
In the main "Settings" panel, we tap the "Lock screen" icon. The icon has a green circle and a white padlock inside. It is labelled "Lock screen". Once we've tapped "Lock screen", we will be in the "Lock screen" area.
We tap the first option, "Screen lock", under "SCREEN SECURITY". In this video, "Screen lock" is set to "None".
Then we tap on "Pattern".
Once we've tapped on "Pattern", we simply swipe through with our finger to draw a very simple pattern. In this case, an "L" shape was chosen.
Now, we are going to tap on "Continue".
Now, we need to draw the pattern again.
We tap on "Confirm". This will confirm our pattern being set.
In order to test the pattern, we press the power button one time on our phone. One press on the power button will lock the phone.
We press the power button once more. We will unlock the phone.
We need to swipe up to unlock the screen.
Now, we are required to enter the pattern. We will swipe through our pattern. This will unlock our phone.
