Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to change the Lock screen image on an HTC One M8.

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on top of the device

Once the phone has been activated, we will see the Lock screen

To unlock the phone let's press down on the screen, holding down until we see two, white padlock icons

Then we will swipe upwards, and the phone will be unlocked

Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen

At the bottom, we will see five various icons, as shown below. What we want to do now is find the Settings menu.

Swipe the Notification panel down

Starting right at the top of the phone, press and hold down while swiping downwards. This will bring up our Notifications panel. As we can see, we have no new notifications right now. What we want to find now is the icon located in the top right corner of the Notification panel. This icon features a white cog, this is our Settings icon.

Now let's press down on the Settings icon

This will open up our Settings menu.

Now we will scroll down to the first submenu

It will say "PERSONAL" at the top, in a gray bar. Underneath it will be the word "Personalize". This will have the "Personalize" icon beside it, featuring a phone outline with a paint brush inside of it.

We will now press down on the "Personalize" option

This is going to take us into our "Personalize" options.

If we look down, we want the option underneath the gray bar with the label "LOCK SCREEN"

The label below it will feature the words "Lock screen wallpaper". This is how we can change the Lock screen image.

Let's press down on the words "Lock screen wallpaper"

This will present us two options.

The first option listed will be to "Use home screen wallpaper"
.
This will make the Lock screen image the same as the Home screen. This is the option that is currently selected.

What we want to do is "Use custom wallpaper", press down on this once

This is going to open up our photo albums.

Now we can choose an image from our photo albums

We may also choose from ones that we have received in a message by tapping the icon labeled "Select a single item", with the word "Timeline" below it

This will bring up all the different areas that we can find images

We can find images on our "Timeline", "Albums", "Tags", "Locations", and "Downloads & screenshots". If we have taken a screenshot or we have received a photo in a message and we have saved it and downloaded it, then we may use that also as the wallpaper for our Lock screen. For the tutorial, we will press down on "Select a single item" again to close this menu.

Now what we can do is scroll through our photos to find the one we like
.
We can do this by pressing down with our finger on the screen, and scrolling up or down to look at the photos.

We can see here that there are four different icons at the top of the screen

These are simply different ways to view all of our images.

Right now we have the second option checked, this is indicated by the fact it is highlighted in green

This options icon has a grid, which will arrange the photos in a grid.

If we press down on the first option, which is represented by a square with a horizontal line in the middle, it is going to show our photos in a different way

It is just a different way to display our photos.

We may also choose to press down on the final option, represented by a calendar icon

This will display our photos by month.

Lastly, we can check the third option, which will show us another way of displaying our photos

What we will do now is choose the second option, since it makes it easier to see our photos

We can then look through our photos, pressing down on the one that we like.

Let's say for example we like this one, we will press down on the image once

This is going to bring up the photo full screen

This will allow us to crop the photo, we can see it says "Crop" in the top left-hand corner.

To crop the photo, we can press down on a circle located in one of the corners and drag in

There will be four circles around the image in each corner of the green outline. This is going to allow us to crop the image to choose the size that we want.

Once we have done this, and we are happy and satisfied with cropping, we are going to press the "Done" option

This is located in the bottom right-hand corner of the image.

Now as we can see it says "The picture has been set as your lock screen"

We will now turn off the phone by pressing the Power button
