Edited by Thor, Rushell, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to change the reading view font size when using Internet Explorer on a Microsoft Lumia 535.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone
.
2
Swipe the lock screen up to enter the Home screen
.
3
Now, what I would like to do is show you an example of just the normal size of the text when viewing something on Internet Explorer
.
So first I will tap on the Internet Explorer tile to open it. The tile has a lowercase E on it.
4
As you can see, this is the normal size of the text
.
5
What this function is really good for is to help you change the text for your specific needs
.
If you need the text to be bigger or smaller, you can edit it, and you can customize it, so it works exactly for you and just improves your entire experience of reading on the internet. To do that, we're going to go back by pressing the back arrow at the bottom of the screen. You may need to press the arrow more than once. We want to get to the Home Screen.
6
Now, we need to swipe down from the top to get to the notifications panel
.
7
Then we're going to press All Settings at the top right corner of the screen
.
8
Now, we are in the Settings menu
.
We need to swipe across from right to left to bring up the applications settings.
9
Near the top, we have Internet Explorer
.
Press that to go into those settings.
10
Scroll down to get to advanced settings, and press that button
.
11
Now, we have a box called Reading view preview
.
This is the reading view font size. The text inside the box shows how it will look.
12
You will see a blue bar below that you can press to change the size of the font
.
13
If you want the font to be smaller, you would make that blue bar very short
.
14
You can also make it longer by extending the blue bar all the way across
.
I am going to make mine very big just to give you an example. When I go back to the article, you're going to clearly see the changes.
15
To go back, I'm just going to press the Windows icon at the bottom of the screen
.
16
Enter Internet Explorer again and open a website
.
Once you have a website open, what you need to do is look for the book icon at the bottom of the page. It should be just to the right of the URL address. This is the reading icon.
17
If I press the book icon, the text on the screen will get bigger to reflect our personal choice that we've made in the Settings menu
.
Now, the text is massive. It's very big, and it's a lot easier to read if you have problems reading small text. As you can see, this is a way of increasing the text size.
18
If we press and hold the left arrow at the bottom of the screen, it will show us all of the Windows that are open
.
19
We want to go back to settings, so we can just scroll through the open Windows to find that
.
20
Here we can tap on the blue bar again
.
This time we want to reduce the font size, so we'll press closer to the left side.
21
Now, if we go back to our web page on Internet Explorer, you can see that the reading view font size has decreased
.
22
You can press the back button to go back out of the reading view option and bring you back into the normal viewing mode
.
23
This concludes our tutorial on how to change the reading view font size when using Internet Explorer on a Microsoft Lumia 535
.
