Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how you can rename an HTC One M8 when using the Bluetooth function.
To begin, turn the phone On by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen. To unlock the phone, press and hold down on the screen until we can see the padlock icon here and then swipe up.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen and at the bottom, we will see these icons here.
We now need to find the Settings menu. To do that, we can swipe the notifications panel down. To open the notifications panel, press and hold down at the top of the screen and then swipe down.
Now we can see that the notifications panel has appeared and we are looking for the white cog icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. This is our Settings icon. Press down on it and it will open up our Settings menu.
We can see that it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
We are now looking for the "WIRELESS AND NETWORKS" section.
Under this section, we are looking for the "Bluetooth" option. We can see that it says the word "Bluetooth" here and it is currently turned Off.
Press down on the word "Bluetooth". We can see that it says the word "Off" in the icon and under the word "Bluetooth". The Bluetooth icon is also gray which means that it is turned Off also.
The first thing we need to do is turn this option On and to do that, we can press down on this icon at the top.
Now we can see that we have turned the Bluetooth function On. If we want to turn it Off, just press on that icon again.
Let us press down on this icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. We can see that there are three white circles in a vertical line. Press down on this icon and it will open up our little menu. We want to change the name of our phone when using the Bluetooth function because it can be very useful for friends if they can identify who we are especially if we are in a public place with lots of different Bluetooth names and networks. What we want to do is choose a name that is more personal for you and to help you be identified easier by other people.
We want the "Rename this device" option. Press down on this option.
Now we have the option to rename this device. Press anywhere in the white box to edit the name. The current name is already written there. It is just going to ask us to delete or to rename in whatever way we want to. We can just put "fort". That is the name we want for our HTC One M8. You can choose any name you would like. We are just choosing a very simple word so that we don't spend too much time writing.
Once we are happy with the name, press down on the "RENAME" button and it is going to rename it.
We can see now the name has changed to "fort" at the top. It says, "Now visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices".
This concludes our tutorial on how to rename an HTC One M8 when using the Bluetooth function. If you have any questions or comments about this video, or about the process you have seen in this video, then please leave them in the comments section below and we shall answer them for you.
