Change Folder Names on the iPad Air 2

Steps

In order to rename a folder on your iPad, the iPad needs to be unlocked

Then, you swipe over until you find a page with a folder to rename

Once you find the page with the folder, you'll note that tapping the folder will open the folder with the name at the top
.

Tapping the name simply closes the folder
.

In order to give the folder a new name, press and hold the folder to "unlock" it
.

Once all of the applications on the iPad start to shake, release the folder
.
You will have it "unlocked".

This will open the folder. You will note that there is a small "X" which will appear next to the folder name. It is "Games" in this video.

This will delete the title and bring up the keyboard.

If you don't want to delete the folder name, simply tap anywhere outside of it

The folder name will stay. It is "Games" in this video.

Alternatively, you can again tap on the folder

You will open it.

Tap on the area where the title is

Tap on the word "Games".

Then, you can modify the name by typing
.
Let's press the space bar and type the number "2". This will change the name to "Games 2".

Then, tap on "Done" when you've finished

Now, the new name will be applied.

If you tap on the folder now, it will be closed

It is now named "Games 2" in this video.
