Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to distance units used in the Google Maps application on an HTC One M8. To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone. Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.
Steps
1
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up
.
Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.
2
We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen
.
There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.
3
Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap on the Maps application
.
It has a map icon with a red pin and says "Maps" underneath. This will open the Maps application.
4
We now need to find the settings menu and to do that, we need to tap on the three horizontal lines in the top left-hand corner
.
This will open up a menu.
5
Now, scroll down near the bottom and tap on "Settings"
.
6
Now we want to tap on "Distance units"
.
Underneath it says, "Automatic", showing that that is the option currently selected.
7
Now we can choose between "Automatic", "Kilometres" or "Miles"
.
This can be very useful if we're driving in other countries and we're more used to using one type of distance units. In order to change the option, we just press down on the chosen option. We will press down on "Miles".
8
Now we can see that the distance units is set to miles, it says "Miles" underneath
.
9
If we press down on that section again, we can see that the blue circle has moved
.
If we want to change it again, we just press down on the chosen option.
10
This concludes the tutorial on how to change the distance units used in the Google Maps application on an HTC One M8.
