To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, we will see the Lock screen

To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards

We now need to find the Settings menu. To do that, we need to swipe the Notification panel down.

We want the option at the bottom that says, "Choose date format"

We can see the current format just underneath that. On this example, it is Day/Month/Year.

We have the option to include actual words, including the actual day and written name of the month or first few letters of the month name

Choose the option desired by tapping on it

It will select that format and return to the previous menu.

We can see at the bottom of the screen that the new format is there

We can have a look at this on the Lock screen by pressing the Power button on top of the phone

This will make the phone sleep. Then turn it back on again to activate it.
