   Press the power button on the right side of the phone to turn the phone on

   Swipe the lock screen up to unlock the phone and display the home screen

   Find and tap the Lumia Camera tile to open the Lumia Camera application

   The Lumia Camera tile appears as a white image of a camera on a purple background. If the Lumia Camera app is not pinned to the home screen, swipe from right to left to display the App menu. Find and tap Lumia Camera to open the Lumia Camera app.

   Tap the menu icon, in the bottom right corner of the screen, to open the options menu

   The menu icon appears as an ellipsis, or 3 dots. The menu icon may be difficult to see if the camera is pointed at a white background, as the ellipsis is also white.

   Tap the field under "Aspect Ratio" to open the list of available aspect ratios

   .

   You will be able to select between the 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios. This setting changes the size of the photo. This is done to give a different dimension to a photo or give it a unique feel from other photos.

   If the aspect ratio was changed, the size of the camera image will be different

   .

   In this example, the aspect ratio was changed from 16:9 to 4:3, and the camera image has become shorter. Before, the size of the image, or shot, filled the screen. Now, with the smaller ratio, the image fills the screen width but the height is shorter.
