Castor oil for cockroach repellent?

Most essential oils are good insect repellents and castor oil is one of them. It is a good mosquito repellent and is generally safe for all ages since it doesn't have any known side effects. You can also use it for moles and termites. However, castor oil may not be strong enough to get rid of cockroaches. If you want to get rid of unfriendly housemates like cockroaches, you may need a solution that is made up of stronger ingredients such as Boric acid and vinegar.

Plant-derived natural oils have been widely used because of their potent anti-fungal, insecticidal and antibacterial properties. Castor oil has been recently studied and shows promising results in effectively killing cockroaches. According to the scientific study of Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, they found out through their scientific experiments and concluded that using castor oil can be effectively used as an alternative pesticide in pest management and control especially in termites and cockroaches. Castor oil contains a very toxic protein substance called Ricin which makes it one of the best natural oil insect repellents. To sum it up, using castor oil alone is quite effective in killing cockroaches and other insects.
