Hello! Welcome to VisiHow! In this video, we are going to show you how to browse and filter recipes when using the Food & Drink application on the Microsoft Lumia 535.
To begin, we turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the right-hand side of the phone. Once the phone has been activated, we will see the Lock screen.
We swipe up the Lock screen up. This will take us to the Home screen.
On the Home screen, we need to find Food & Drink tile. In this case, the tile is located on the Home screen. The tile has a blue background, and there is a white rectangle with the outlines of a fork and spoon in the middle. If the Food & Drink tile is not pinned to the Home screen, then we swipe left to find it in the Apps menu.
Once we located the Food & Drink tile, we tap it to enter the application.
Once the application has loaded, we need to find the "browse recipes" option. The option is written in white in a darker blue text bar.
If we cannot see the "browse recipes" option, we swipe left or right until we can find it.
Once "browse recipes" is located, we tap it. This is going to take us into the options with all of the different types of recipes for which we can search. We have "Breakfast", "Lunch", "Main Dish", "Salad", "Rice" all the way down, etc.
We are going to choose one main dish, and we can choose whatever dish we desire. For example, let's tap on "Main Dish". This is going to take us to the main dish options. The application is going to give us a large number of main dishes, suggestions, and recipes.
We can scroll through them and look for something at random.
If we want to search for something particular, we can do so in the "SEARCH" bar by tapping it. The virtual keyboard will appear. We will be able to type the option for which we would like to search. The other option is to filter the recipes. There's quite a lot of them. The list goes on for a very long time, but if we want to filter it, we can do so.
We can filter the list by tapping the icon at the bottom of the screen. The icon has a white circle inside with the number "1" and another small icon that is quite hard to define. We tap the icon. This is going to bring up the filter methods. To filter the list, we have several options. We have "Cuisine", the first option under "Main Dish".
If we want to choose the type of cuisine, we tap "Cuisine". We will have a selection of options. We will have quite a lot of options, actually. We can look for things. For example, maybe we want to look for Turkish, Jordanian, Texan, Polish, Italian, Spanish, or other food.
Let's tap "Vietnamese", but any other option can be tapped. Next, we have "Dietary needs".
If we tap "Dietary needs", we will have one option, "Healthy". These options will change depending on the type of the selected cuisine.
We tap the Back button to go back. The button is a white arrow and is located in the bottom left-hand corner of the phone. We will go back to the "FILTERS" option.
If we want to change the cuisine, we can actually erase the previously selected cuisine first by tapping the cross next to it on the right-hand side. We tap the cross next to "Vietnamese".
For example, let's choose the "American" cuisine. Sometimes, the screen might be nonresponsive, so give it a good tap.
Next, we tap "Dietary needs". There will be more options. Obviously, different cuisines have different types of food and requirements. Some foods like gluten-free foods are very hard to create in some cuisines. We have to bear that in mind when we choose different cuisine options.
If we have some dietary needs, we can tap "Healthy". "Healthy" is always a good option. We tap it to select the option.
We can tap off the menu to get out of it.
We can always remove selected filter options by tapping the "x" icons on the right-hand side of the screen.
Next, we can choose "Main ingredients". All of the options will also change depending on the cuisine and other things that we choose. We tap "Main ingredients", and we can choose a large selection of ingredients.
For example, let's tap "Lamb". The application is going to bring up an option with adding tomatoes to lamb.
If we do not want lamb with tomatoes, we just press off the new menu to be taken back. The application will give us many different ingredients, depending on food and items that we select. The application will give us other choices connected with the ingredients that we choose.
The last option that with this style of options, depending on the choices that we've made at the start, is "Seasonal/Occasion". We tap it. In this example, we have "Summer".
We tap "Summer". This will take us to some more options. At the bottom, we have "Total time".
We tap "Total time". There will be only once choice "Over 1 Hour". Different things will have different choices. It is good to remember that.
Once we are satisfied with all of our filter options, all of the filter declarations, we tap the check icon at the bottom. The icon is a white check inside of a circle. If we tap that, we will be given the filtered options. There is only one in this example because we were very specific in our style of cuisine and ingredients. We were very specific, so the application brought up only one option. If we were to be less specific in our filtering, that would bring us more options.
