Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to block or allow pop-ups using the Google Chrome application on the HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards

   .

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen and multiple icons at the bottom. It is once of these icons that we need to activate in order to see the applications folder.

   To open the applications folder, tap the icon that looks like a grid of white dots, that is located at the bottom of the screen in the middle

   Find the Google Chrome application, and tap on it once to open the application

   .

   The Google Chrome icon looks like a big circle made up of different colors and has the word "Chrome" underneath it. Your Google Chrome application may be in a different position in this folder, therefore you will need to find it.

   Once the application has loaded, tap on the three vertical black dots icon in the top-right corner

   Scroll down and look for the word "Settings", and tap on it once

   Scroll down in the settings menu, close to the bottom we will see "Site Settings"

   Tap on it once to take us to the site settings.

   Scroll down and find where it says "Pop-ups" with the word "Blocked" or "Allowed" underneath, and tap on it once

   "Blocked" means that "Blocked" is the current option that is active.

   Tap on the circular icon to the right of "Pop-ups" to enable or disable the option

   .

   It will indicate blue when it is enabled, and grey when it is disabled. It is recommended to block pop-ups because they are often advertisements and they can be malicious or carry viruses. They can also be irritating. If we find that we are using a website that has positive pop-ups, or we're getting frustrated that pop-ups aren't getting revealed to us and we're not seeing them, we can turn this option on.
