You're watching VisiHow. In the previous tutorial, we changed the download location. This is a tutorial on how to automatically open files you've downloaded in the Chrome web browser.

Steps

  1. 1
    First, choose a file that you wish to download
    .
    The download will be initiated.

    Then, click the arrow next to the name of the downloaded file

    It is located at the bottom of the page.

    Click "Always Open Files of This Type"
    .
    Once the download has been completed, the file will be opened. In this video, the music file will be opened with a music player (iTunes).

    If you don't want to open downloaded files automatically in the future, click the hot-dog menu

    The icon with three bars is located in the top right-hand corner.

    Click "Settings"

    Now, click "Show advanced settings" at the bottom of the page

    Scroll down to "Downloads"

    Click the "Clear auto-opening settings" button

    It will disappear. You will have the option of clicking "Always Open Files of This Type" from step 3 again.
