Arrange Notifications by What You Think Is Important for IPhone 6
Edited by Grimm, JellyBean, Jen M
You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to set up your notifications so that they are arranged by what you think is important, and not what the phone does.
Steps
1
To start off with, let's give a single press to the Home button on our phone
.
2
Then we'll swipe across the Lock screen
.
3
This will take us to the 'Touch ID or Passcode' area where we can enter our Passcode, or we can press our thumb or fingerprint on the Home button
.
4
Once we've done that, we'll be taken directly to the Home screen of the phone
.
5
What we're looking for now is the 'Settings' icon, which is a gray and silver box with a series of gears inside of it
.
It's labeled as 'Settings'.
6
Just give that a single press when it's located
.
7
This will open up the 'Settings' panel
.
8
On the 'Settings' panel, we're going to scroll down to 'Notifications', which is the first selection in the second series of options
.
It's got a little box with a dot on the top right side.
9
10
Once tapped, the 'Notifications' option will display the 'Notifications' panel
.
11
What we're going to do now is tap 'Sort Manually'
.
12
When we tap that, a blue check box should appear next to it
.
13
When we've done that, we'll be able to order the options included in the 'Notifications' selections by simply tapping 'Edit'
.
14
One tap on 'Edit' will then create a menu of options where we'll have three bars on the the right side of each icon
.
15
This will allow us to move things down, for example, that are less important to us
.
16
We can take other things such as 'Facebook' and move them up so that they're on top
.
17
Now that we've reordered this, we can see that we have 'Phone' calls, 'Messages' and 'Facebook' as our top three priority notifications
.
This means that if we have a series or a list of notifications that come up in the iPhone notification panel, we will only have the important ones shown at the top.
18
When we're satisfied with our selections, we'll tap the blue Done button one time
.
19
Next we're going to tap back on 'Settings' at the top left corner to go back into the 'Settings' panel
.
20
Simply press the Home button to close it and return to the Home screen on the phone
.
We can continue to use the phone as normal.
21
This concludes our tutorial on how to arrange the notifications on you iPhone 6 in a manner that sets them up according to what's important to you, and not what the system has decided
.
