Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to archive a WhatsApp chat on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

   We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

   There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

   Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the WhatsApp application

   .

   There is a WhatsApp icon, which is a green speech bubble with a white telephone inside, and underneath it says "WhatsApp". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder. We want to demonstrate how to archive a WhatsApp chat.

   Choose a chat, then press down and hold down until a menu appears

   Tap on "Archive chat"

   It will then say "Archived chats (1)" in the chat list. The reason we archive chats is because we want to clear them away, but we don't want to delete them. We want to put them somewhere safe and store them in a place that is out of sight, but we can still read them if we want to. This helps us to clear old chats and things that aren't active anymore, without having to delete them.

   If we want to unarchive the chat, or even just read it, we can press down on "Archived chats (1)" and we will see a list of the archived chats

   We can still read the chat like normal by pressing down on it

   Go back by pressing the back arrow in the top left-hand corner of the screen
