    We should have GIMP open and an image ready to use

    First, click "Filters"

    It's on the top-left side of the window.

    Then, move the cursor to "Blur"

    Click "Tileable Blur..." in the menu

    A small dialogue box will appear, so that you can begin specifying the settings for the blur.

    First, you can change the "Radius" value

    You can do it by dragging the scrollbar left or right or by typing the value into the box.

    Next, you can check or uncheck "Blur Vertically" and "Blur Horizontally"

    Then you can click the "Blur type" drop-down menu

    You can click either "IIR" or "RLE". "IIR" is good for noncomputer-generated images, whereas "RLE" is better for computer-generated images.

    When you are satisfied with your changes, simply click "OK"
