   To begin, unlock the phone

   Either press the lock button on the side, or the home button at the bottom.

   Enter the passcode, or press a finger to the home button to use the fingerprint scanner

   Find the Gumtree application and tap to enter

   Press the settings icon in the bottom right-hand corner

   Look under "NOTIFICATIONS"

   It says, "Please enable notifications in the device settings." Right now, we can't use this to change anything.

   Find the gray Settings icon with a cog in the middle

   Tap once to open up the phone settings menu.

   Scroll down to the applications list and find Gumtree

   The list is at the bottom and is in alphabetical order. Gumtree should be towards the top of the list. Tap on "Gumtree".

    Tap on the slider icon next to "Allow Notifications"

    It will turn green. This enables notifications and opens up some options.

    The slider will turn white. We will enable it. Let's edit the notifications settings.

    Press "Show in Notification Center" to say how many we want to see in the Notification Center

    It's set to 5 at the moment, indicated by the checkmark. This is the default. Tap whichever one is desired. We don't need to press save.

    This enables or disables sounds.

    If "Show on Lock Screen" is enabled, there are extra settings along the bottom

    We can choose "None", "Banners" or "Alerts". The selected option is indicated by a ring around the option title. We will select "Alerts", where we have several boxes in the center of the screen.

Notifications not coming through?

Message notifications are not coming through. So I am having to check all the time by going into the app for whether or not I have anyone interested in my goods. Notifications access is on, so I'm sure that isn't the problem. Can you help. I have tried: Reloading app and restoring iPhone settings. I think it was caused by: Bug in the app
