Allow Access to Microphone and Voice Search on Google on iPhone 6
Edited by Freya, Robert, Eng
Hi, welcome to VisiHow. Today I'm going to teach you how to allow access to microphone and voice search using the Google application on the iPhone 6.
To begin, press the lock button on the right-hand side of the phone.
Alternatively, we can unlock our phone by pressing the round button at the bottom of the screen.
Swipe to the right to enter your passcode. As an alternative to entering your passcode, put your finger on the home button to use the fingerprint scanner.
Once at the home screen, find the settings icon which is grey with a dark grey gear inside of it.
Scroll all the way down until we see apps in alphabetical order, and tap on "Google". We'll recognize the Google logo on the left side.
Tap on "Microphone", which is the second option indicated by the red box on the left with a microphone in it. If the bubble on the right is white, the option is disabled. When we tap it the bubble will turn green to indicate that it is enabled. Tap it again to disable it.
Find and tap on the Google application icon to open it, which is blue with a white "g" inside.
We can search by tapping on the white bar in the middle of the screen. We can refer to the article on how to search using the Google application for iPhone 6 if we don't know how to.
Tap on the round microphone button to start the microphone to search using our voice. In this example, we'll say "Pink Floyd". This will register the words we said and automatically begin the search.
Scroll through like we would any normal search results about that particular search.
Go back to the previous screen by tapping the arrow in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Tap on the circle in the center with the Google "G" to go back to the search page where we started.
Now you know how to allow access to microphone and voice search using the Google application on the iPhone 6. If you have any questions or comments please enter them in the section below. Thank you for using VisiHow, goodbye.
