Adjust the Video Camera White Balance on Microsoft Lumia 535
Edited by Thor, Crystal, Eng
Welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to adjust the white balance while making a video with the Lumia Camera application on the Microsoft Lumia 535.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button location on the right-hand side of the phone. This will reveal the lock screen.
Swipe the lock screen up to enter the home screen.
On the home screen, look for the Lumia Camera tile. It is a purple tile with a white camera inside. If the Lumia Camera tile is not pinned to the lock screen, swipe left and find it in the applications menu. Press the tile to open the application.
Once the camera is loaded, press the white video camera icon to switch the camera into video mode. We then want to change the white balance. The need to change the white balance depends on the amount of light. Depending on the quality of light or the environmental conditions you are in, you may need to change the white balance. Light is very different if it comes from an artificial source such as a light bulb, compared to the sun or a bright moon. It also depends on if you're indoors or outdoors.
On the far right side of the screen, there is a grey menu; tap "WB" which stands for "White Balance".
Now there is a semicircle with 5 options on it. Press and hold the black circle that says "WB", and drag it to select a different option.
Alternatively, tap the options to select them.
If the option on the far left is selected, it is set to "auto". If this option is set, the phone will automatically choose the white balance.
The next option is a cloud icon. The phone is trying to create more light and let more light in because the conditions are not so good. The camera looks more yellow than when it is set to auto.
The next option is a sun icon. The image still has a yellow tint to it.
The next option is for more artificial lights.
The last option is a light bulb icon. Experiment with these and try them with different situations. If the colors are not quite as full or as powerful as they could be, try changing the light balance and seeing what the results are.
This concludes the tutorial on how to adjust the white balance while making a video using the Lumia Camera application on the Microsoft Lumia 535.
