You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to adjust curves in GIMP in Windows 7.
You should have GIMP open and an image ready to use. You can refer to our other tutorials to find out exactly how to do that.
First, click "Colors" on the top-left side of the window.
If the menu is hidden by "Toolbox", then just move it.
Then, click "Curves...". A dialogue box will appear.
You can choose a preset if you have one from the drop-down menu.
If you make a preset, you can save it by pressing the plus sign just next to the arrow of the drop-down menu.
Next, click the "Channel" drop-down menu. Click the color channel that you would like to adjust.
Click the "Curve type" drop-down menu. Click "Smooth".
Click and drag the curve points on the graph to change it. Experiment with the curve to get it how you want.
Make sure that "Preview" is checked.
Click the "Curve type" drop-down menu. Click "Freehand".
You can draw the curve on the graph now.
You can reset all of the options by clicking "Reset".
Once you are satisfied with the changes, click "OK".
This is a VisiHow tutorial, and we have just shown you how to use curves in GIMP in Windows 7. If you have any questions or comments regarding this tutorial or the program used, just add them to the section below. Thank you for choosing VisiHow!
