Adjust a Curve in the GIMP App

You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to adjust curves in GIMP in Windows 7.
Steps

You should have GIMP open and an image ready to use

You can refer to our other tutorials to find out exactly how to do that.

First, click "Colors" on the top-left side of the window

If the menu is hidden by "Toolbox", then just move it
.

A dialogue box will appear.

You can choose a preset if you have one from the drop-down menu

If you make a preset, you can save it by pressing the plus sign just next to the arrow of the drop-down menu

Next, click the "Channel" drop-down menu
.
Click the color channel that you would like to adjust.

Click the "Curve type" drop-down menu

Click "Smooth".

Click and drag the curve points on the graph to change it

Experiment with the curve to get it how you want.

Make sure that "Preview" is checked

Click the "Curve type" drop-down menu

Click "Freehand".

You can draw the curve on the graph now

You can reset all of the options by clicking "Reset"

Once you are satisfied with the changes, click "OK"
