Edited by Freya, Alexander Avdeev
Hi! You are watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to adjust your settings in the My Fitness Pal application on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, we should unlock our phone, which we can do by pressing the lock button on the right-hand side of the handset
.
2
Alternatively, we can press the big round home button located at the bottom of the screen
.
3
4
We can enter our passcode or just hold the finger onto the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner as well
.
This will open the home screen.
5
We should find the My Fitness Pal icon
.
In my case, it is hidden in the "Useful" folder. The icon is blue with a person in white jumping, and there is a grey tab in the top-left corner of the icon.
6
We tap My Fitness Pal to open the application
.
It will automatically take us to the home page, where the application will show us our calories for the day and the option to connect and blog posts.
7
We need to tap the icon in the bottom right-hand corner on the gray bar where it says "More"
.
There are also three horizontal dots above "More". Tapping the icon will bring up a new menu.
8
We need to scroll down until we find "Settings"
.
The option has a picture of a grey cog on the left-hand side.
9
We tap "Settings" to open up the settings
.
We can click through the different options in "Settings" to alter the things that need to be changed.
10
We can tap "Profile" to change it
.
11
We can click through various options of the "Profile" menu to change the details as we like
.
12
We can tap the white tick for each of the options in "Profile" to accept the changes
.
13
We tap the back arrow in the top-left corner to go back to the "Settings" screen
.
14
We can tap "Diary Settings"
.
15
The diary settings can be changed according to our preferences by enabling or disabling them
.
If an is option enabled, it has a green toggle. If an option is disabled, it has a white toggle. We also have the "Default Search Tab" option in the diary settings.
16
We can tap "Default Search Tab"
.
When we click on that, we will see "Recent", "Frequent", "My Foods", etc. The blue tick on the right-hand side will change, depending upon which one we tap.
17
We can tap "Frequent", for example, and go back to the previous screen
.
18
We can tap "Diary Sharing"
.
The blue tick on the right-hand side will change indicating the selection and depending upon which one we tap.
19
We can select "Locked with a key" and enter our passcode
.
We can also select "Private", "Public", or "Friends Only" out of these four options.
20
We can tap the white tick in the top right-hand corner to save the changes
.
This will accept the changes and bring up the previous menu.
21
We can tap the arrow in the top-left corner to get back to the "Settings" menu
.
22
We can tap "Sharing & Privacy"
.
23
We can tap "News Feed Sharing"
.
24
We can tick or untick the listed options to adjust the news feed sharing
.
All of the blue ticks on the left-hand side mean that we agree with the statements so that the application updates the newsfeeds accordingly. So, for example, it says that it will update the news feed when we lose weight ("I have lost weight"). We just tap the tick if we do not want the option to be set, and the circle on the left-hand side next to the option becomes empty. We can tap it again to bring the blue tick back.
25
When everything is adjusted, we tap the top right-hand corner with a white tick to accept the changes and go back to the "Sharing & Privacy" menu
.
26
We tap "Diary Sharing" and do the same as before
.
We just place ticks on the right-hand side and tap the back arrow to go back.
27
28
We can enable or disable certain things that we like or dislike
.
Some of the options are linked.
29
Once everything is adjusted, we tap the top right-hand corner with a white tick to accept the changes and go back
.
This will bring up "Sharing & Privacy" menu.
30
We tap "HealthKit Sharing"
.
This is useful when we use the Health application on the iPhone.
31
If we want certain health applications, we can enable or disable them in this menu
.
32
When satisfied, we tap "Done" written in pink in the top-right corner
.
33
Alternatively, press "Cancel" in the top-left corner if the settings should not be saved
.
34
We can tap "Facebook Settings"
.
35
We can set whether people can find us by enabling or disabling the first option by tapping the toggle
.
This can be done if we are linked with Facebook rather than our own account.
36
We can also tap "Disconnect from Facebook", which is written in pink if we do not want to stay connected through Facebook
.
37
We tap the back arrow in the top-left corner again
.
38
We can tap the toggle on "Require Passcode"
.
39
If "Require Passcode" is enabled, we can enter the passcode
.
40
We tap the back arrow in the top-left corner again then
.
41
We can tap "My Exercises" now
.
42
We can delete exercises that we might have already added by tapping on the red round icon with a line
.
43
Confirm the deletion by tapping the "Delete" option on the right-hand side
.
In the example, all of the exercises will be deleted.
44
We tap the white arrow in the top-left corner
.
45
We tap "Weekly Nutrition Settings"
.
46
We can select days and the starting day for the week
.
Again, the blue tick will just move accordingly.
47
We tap the white arrow in the top-left corner to go back
.
48
We tap "Push Notifications"
.
49
We can select or deselect push notifications by tapping the options
.
The circles on the left-hand side will be either filled in blue or will be empty.
50
When we are happy, we tap the tick in the right-hand corner
.
51
Finally, tap the "Logout" option
.
When we click on that, we'll just log out of My Fitness Pal; and the application will not give us any other options.
52
We can log in by tapping "Log In" in the bottom section of the screen
.
