- 9Experiment with these scrollers to view the different effects. The changes will be reflected both on the preview and on the selected color at the top. Make sure that the "Preview" button is checked. It is in the lower left-hand corner. You will see the changes as you make them.After that, you can adjust your selected color by using the "Hue", "Lightness", and "Saturation" scrollers in the same way.

What is overlap in hue-saturation on gimp and why is it used?
I'm trying to correct some images I photographed, the colors on the image aren't nearly what they are in real life so I'm using hue-saturation and have figure out the other options but can't see what overlap does.
