Adjust Fitness Goals in MyFitnessPal on iPhone 6
Edited by Freya, Alexander Avdeev
Hi! You are watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how you can adjust your goals in the 'MyFitnessPal' application on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, we should unlock our phone, which we can do by pressing the big round 'Home' button located at the bottom of the screen
.
2
Alternatively, we can press the 'Lock' button on the right-hand side of the phone
.
3
4
We can enter our passcode or just hold the finger onto the 'Home' button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner as well
.
This will open the home screen.
5
We should find the 'MyFitnessPal' icon
.
In my case, it is in the "Useful" folder. The icon itself is blue with a silhouette of a person in white jumping, and there is a grey tab in the top-left corner of the icon.
6
We tap 'MyFitnessPal' to open the application
.
It takes us straight away to the 'Home' menu.
7
We tap the 'More' icon on the bar at the bottom
.
The icon has three horizontal dots and is in the bottom right-hand corner. Tapping the icon will bring up a new menu.
8
We tap the second option, the 'Goals' icon, to open up our goals
.
The icon on the left has a target board picture.
9
We can change the information simply by tapping.
10
We can set our current weight
.
11
We tap the tick on the right-hand side
.
Our goals will be recalculated.
12
We can tap 'Goal Weight'
.
13
We can set our goal weight
.
For example, 5 stones and 5 pounds. The value will be highlighted in bold.
14
We tap the tick on the right-hand side
.
15
It will give us a new option with how many pounds per week, or whatever measurement units you are working in, we would like to lose.
16
We can tap 'Lose 2 pounds per week' for example
.
We can also choose to maintain our current weight, gain weight, or lose weight.
17
When we tap 'Weekly Goal' again, we will see the blue tick on the right-hand side is on the chosen option
.
18
We tap "x" to go back to 'Goals'
.
19
We can choose our activity level to be 'Sedentary', 'Lightly Active', 'Active', or 'Very Active'.
20
We just tap whichever our level is
.
The blue tick will be on that option.
21
22
We select how many calories we want to be taking in per day
.
For example, 1000, which might be not healthy.
23
We can tap the tick when we have finished
.
24
We can tap and adjust 'Carbohydrates', 'Protein', 'Fat' in the same manner
.
25
We can also tap 'Advanced Nutrition Goals'
.
Maybe we are low on fiber, iron, and we can check if we need more. Although they are all at 100% anyway in this example.
26
In the 'Fitness Goals', we can tap 'Workouts/Week' to choose the number of workouts per week
.
27
We can choose the number and tap the white tick
.
28
We can also tap 'Minutes/Workout' to choose for how long we intend to work out
.
In this example, we type 30. We tap the white tick. Everything will be saved now. We do not need to tap 'Save' anywhere.
29
We tap the arrow in the top-left corner
.
30
We tap the 'Home' icon in the bottom-left corner
.
We are now back to our 'Main' menu, and we can see that our calories have changed according to our goal. If we want to lose weight quickly, we'll have fewer calories.
