Hi, welcome to VisiHow. Today I'm going to teach you a little bit about the iPhone 6 bumper. Specifically I'm going to show you how to install it, how to remove it, and when you should use one. In this example, we will be using an iPhone 6 (it's not an iPhone 6 plus, it's just a regular iPhone 6) and we will notice that it is really slim. It is a pleasant phone to hold, but it is a little bit slippery. The bumper case does a couple of things for the phone that a traditional thin case also does - the difference is that when the thin case is added it makes the phone thicker, which you can easily feel when you hold the phone in your hands. A bumper case leaves the phone at its original thickness. When you hold the phone without the case or with a bumper case, you can better notice the original design and appeal of the iPhone 6. If you find that you have a more traditional case and it's not working for you, that's when you want to get a bumper case. A traditional case can only go on the phone one correct way. For example, the charging port has a small covered opening that will only fit easily over the charging port. A bumper case could be mistakenly put on the incorrect way. Since the bumper doesn't cover the back of the phone like a traditional case, it is advised that we install a thin protector onto the back of the phone before installing a bumper case.

   Line up the button and port openings on the bumper case with the buttons and port openings on the phone, and slide the bumper onto the top of the phone only

   Push the edge of the bumper over the buttons on the left side of the phone

   Make sure the openings on the bumper correspond with the phone buttons.

   Push the edge of the bumper case over the button on the right side of the phone

   This side has only an opening for our power button, but no opening for our SIM card, so we don't have to worry about it popping out.

   Pull the bottom left corner of the bumper over the edge of the phone and make sure it is securely on the phone

   Now, both top corners and one of the bottom corners of the bumper are secured onto the phone.

   To secure the last corner of the bumper to the phone, flex the bumper so that it slightly bends and is able to secure to the phone easier

   The reason we install it this way, is because the bottom of the bumper case has a number of holes in it, unlike the top, making the bottom of the case much more pliable and easier to manipulate onto the phone itself.

   To remove the case, begin at the bottom right corner

   I do not recommend starting the removal on the left side because it is a weaker point of the case, as you can notice the structural reinforcement on the left side.

   Begin by pushing down with your thumb on the corner of the case, there is no need to use your thumbnail - only use your thumb

   You will feel the case begin to slide off.

   On the back of the phone, press your finger into the corner of the phone while pressing with your thumb to further loosen the phone from the case

   The case should easily pull off once we have the bottom right corner removed

    If we were new to the iPhone 6, we might not have realized the rear camera slightly sticks out, and the bumper case extends past the camera and allows the phone to sit flat while lying down on a smooth surface. Without the bumper case, the camera protrudes enough to make the phone slightly crooked while lying flat.
