Steps

  1. 1
As you can see, I currently have the factory case that comes with the phone, so I'm going to show you how to remove it without damaging or dropping your phone
    .
You'll notice that the case has an opening at the top.

It also has a piece at the bottom that covers up the headphone jack and the micro USB charging port; open it so that the ports are not covered
    .
Make sure there is nothing else obstructing or holding the case on.

Put your thumb at the bottom right corner on the phone next to the headphone jack and charging port and slide your thumb with some pressure to take the case off of that corner

Put your thumb between the phone and the case and either slide your thumb up the side of the phone or across the bottom
    .
I prefer to slide it across the bottom of the phone because I can move my thumb a little bit and pull the case off of the other edge.

Then, you simply slide the phone out of the case

When you'd like to put the phone back in the case, make sure the bottom part is open and slide the phone down into the bottom of the case

Take the top corners and push it on with your finger
    .
Once you get one corner on your can sort of wiggle the other side in. If it doesn't work, do the same thing with your thumb. Put your thumb in the side, slide it to the corner, and then push the case on. It takes a little bit of effort, but the thing to remember is that this is metal phone, not plastic, and this is a plastic case. Obviously the plastic is going to flex and give quite a bit more than the metal. Once that is done, your phone will be in the case.

Both of the cameras that are on the phone have a very hard lens, so if you notice it's dirty you can take a soft cloth and clean them
    .
You can also use your shirt to clean them. I recommend stopping into your local eyeglass store and picking up a cloth used to clean glasses. Ask them and they will either give you one for free or for a dollar or two.

Again, to take the case off, simply pop open the piece at the bottom, pull down on the corners of the case, then slide the HTC One M8 out and admire the beautiful shiny silver finish, as well as the two cameras on the back
