To unpack the metal tool, flex the metal tool package a bit

Pull the tool off the package

This can be done by holding the side of the tool that will poke out when the package is flexed.

Clean the tool from the adhesive paper and glue

The tray has two nano SIM holders. For single-SIM phones, the tray will be half the size with only one nano SIM holder. If the tray is placed with the wider metal edge facing downwards, the left nano SIM slot will hold the first nano SIM card, and the right slot will hold the second nano SIM card. The first nano SIM will sit at the top of the phone when it is positioned with the camera at the top.

Take a nano SIM card

The size of a nano SIM can be compared to a fingernail. The HTC SIM-card tray is different from trays from other phone manufacturers. The dual tray has a unique design to hold the first and the second SIM cards.

Hold the tray with the first SIM slot up

Notice the notch at the edge of the SIM card.

Align the notches of the nano SIM card and the first holder of the tray as the nano SIM is placed into its resting place

The nano SIM card should barely sit in the holder. If the tray is turned over or tapped slightly owing to inadvertence, the SIM card will fall out. It is different from iPhones, where the SIM card fits into its slot tightly, or Samsung, where the SIM card, not a tray, is slid into its slot.

Position the tray so that the short notches are visible
