Welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to add text to a video in Windows Movie Maker.

   The first thing we're going to want to do is open Windows Movie Maker or a project

   .

   We can do that by clicking on the Movie Maker icon, which, in this case, is pinned to the taskbar. If we don't have it pinned to the taskbar, we can go to the start menu and find it or use the search function.

   We're going to open up an existing project that we're working on by clicking on "File" and choosing the project

   Here, we can play or pause the video like normal

   Once we have the clip that we would like to work on, we need to add the text. There are different ways to add text in Movie Maker.

   We can choose to add a title, by clicking "Title"

   When we click on "Title", we can edit the text and click off of the text to apply it

   If we're not happy with it, we can click on the title and hit "Delete" on the keyboard, or right-click and click on "Delete

   If we want text on the actual clip itself, we can click on "Caption"

    Now the caption shows below the video clip and is stretched to the full duration of the clip

    If we click on play, we'll see the caption

    We can adjust the duration of the caption.

    At the top, above the clip, we can see "Start time", which is 0 because it started at the beginning

    To change the start time, we can change the time. We will change it to 1 second.

    The caption will show from 1 second to the end of the clip

    We can also change the "Text duration"

    Right now, it's set to 1.3 seconds, but we could change it to 0.5 to only show text for half of a second. The other place where we may want to add text is at the end.

    We can do that by adding a caption at the end, or we can click on the arrow next to "Credits"

    We can see they already have presets, so we can select one of those

How do I delete a caption that I wrote?

I wrote a caption and I can't delete it. It won't let me put the time to zero. The minimum is .03 seconds. I just want to completely delete this 1 caption.
