Add a Site Map to Wordpress

Steps

To do this, we'll log into our administrator site of Wordpress

Once we get to our dashboard, we'll make sure to click "Plugins" in the bottom-left part of the pane

Once the "Plugins" page loads, we'll click on "Add New"

We search for "Google xml"

We'll click "Install Now" next to "Google XML Sitemaps"

We choose to install it now. This program has over 1 million of active installations. We can note that this is a quite popular tool.

We click "Activate Plugin"

We'll see that the plugin will be activated.

We hover the mouse cursor over "Settings".

Then, we click "XML-Sitemap"

The page will show where site map is located.

We click the URL next to "The URL to your sitemap index file is"

We copy the URL in the navigation bar

Now, we can go to "Google Search Console"

Formerly, it was called "Google Webmaster Tools".

We click on the first site in this tutorial

From "Search Console", we click "Crawl"

We can click "ADD/TEST SITEMAP"

We copy the end of the URL, "sitemap.xml"

We paste it into the "Add/Test Sitemap" box.

We close the "Sitemap" test by clicking "Close sitemap test"

We use the same "sitemap.xml" in the "Add/Test Sitemap" box

We click "Submit Sitemap" now

We click "Refresh the page."

We click "Delete" to delete it now.
