Add a Lock Screen Message on a Nexus 6P

You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, I'm going to demonstrate how to add a lock-screen message on your Nexus 6P.

Steps

    This could be useful if you lose your phone and want to give a method of contact to somebody who finds your phone and wants to be a Good Samaritan. To start, take two fingers and swipe down from the home screen.

    This will reveal the "Settings" icon, which looks like a gear shaped icon. Tap on it.

    Now you will scroll down until you reach "Security." Tap on it once.

    Then, tap on "Lock screen message."

    Type the message. The typed in message is this: "If found please call 555 1213." Of course you would want to use a real phone number and probably not the phone number on your device, since if you've lost it there is no use of having them call you, but may be a trusted friend of whom you can leave the phone number or office phone number.

    One you have entered that, hit "SAVE."

    Now we can press the Circle button and go back to the home screen.

    We can lock the device by pressing the Power button.

    When we hit unlock, we will see that the message we have set is now displayed here. "If found please call 555 1213."
