Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to add a signature to SMS and MMS messages sent from an HTC One M8.

Steps

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.

To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and hold down until you see the symbol at the bottom with arrows moving from lock to unlock

Then swipe up. Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll be taken to the home screen. At the bottom of the screen are several icons, and it is here where we will find the Messages icon.

The Messages icon is the second one from the left

It is a rectangular speech bubble with three green horizontal lines inside.

Press down on the Messages icon, and we will enter our messages section

We need to find the Settings menu.

Press the icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen

The icon consists of three small white squares in a vertical line. This will bring up a menu.

On the menu, press the second option from the bottom that says, "Settings" in white

On the "Settings" menu, we want the final option at the bottom, "General" so press down on that

On the next screen, scroll down to the "Signature" section

The word "Signature" will be in bold, and there are a couple of signature options.

We can turn the option on, as it is currently "Off"
.
The box on the right side of the screen is empty. What this option does is it adds a little signature to the bottom of your messages to show where the message is sent from. The signature can be customized. Perhaps if you have a business, and you're sending a message, you may want to put your email address or other information about your business, such as your official title, for example. You can add all of these signatures to any message that you send from the HTC One M8.

To choose this option and send a signature in SMS and MMS messages, press down on the box on the right until a checkmark appears

A check in the box means the option is activated, and every time a message is sent, then it will contain this signature at the bottom. It is important to note that the number of words in the signature will be part of a message's total space. For example, if a message is limited to 200 words, the signature will count towards that. It is not a separate part of it, but it will be included in the space that you actually have the whole message.

The current signature states, "Sent from my HTC"

To change this, press down where it says "Signature"

Now, the option to "Edit signature" appears

The current text, "Sent from my HTC", appears in this small window, and the keypad has appeared. The original signature can be deleted, modified, or completely retyped as desired.

To turn the Signature option off, just press the box on the right to remove the checkmark

The "Use signature" option will say "Off".
