Edited by Freya, Leomar Umpad, Eng
Hi, you are watching VisiHow and today we are going to show you how you can add a new recipe or meal to the MyFitnessPal application on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, we should unlock our phone which we can do by pressing the lock button on the right-hand side of the handset, or by pressing the big round button at the bottom of the screen called the Home button
.
2
Once the lock screen is up, we can simply swipe and enter our passcode or just hold our finger on the Home button which doubles as a fingerprint scanner as well
.
3
We will be taken into the Home screen
.
4
Next is just a case of finding the MyFitnessPal application
.
In this case, the app is here in a folder because the phone is personalized. You can see the icon itself is a blue icon with what looks like a person jumping in white. The top left-hand corner is gray with a small dumbbell symbol as well.
5
Let's just tap the icon to open up the app
.
6
We will then be taken to the Home page, which is not what we need today
.
Instead, we go to the bottom part and go to the diary which is the second option indicated by a small picture of a diary.
7
Tap the diary icon and it will bring up the diary for today
.
8
Then we can go down into our Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner
.
9
Let's do Lunch for now because we have not eaten anything, and it gives us the option on the left-hand side to "Add food"
.
We want to tap the option so we can now add our food.
10
The feature gives us things that we have already suggested and already eaten
.
We are going to the upper part, highlighted in slightly dark gray, and tap on "Recipes".
11
The page says, "Do you cook often?"
.
We can create a new recipe by tapping on the "Create New Recipe" bar.
12
We can either add recipes directly from the internet or enter the ingredients manually
.
Let's enter manually because it is a longer process.
13
We can click on Title to put in the title
.
Let's just say "Hello" for now.
14
Servings - how many people does it serve
?
Let's say Five.
15
Bulk import ingredients - you can then click that, and it goes green if you want that to be activated, or click again to deactivate
.
Let's activate for now.
16
Next, it says "Paste or type your ingredients list here." Let's simply start typing what ingredients are necessary
.
So we can say Apples, Bananas, etc.
17
Then, let's go to the top right-hand corner where we have a white arrow and tap that
.
18
Now, it just says it's loading and displays "Matching ingredients"
.
19
The will then ask here if we mean the apples are raw, with skin, medium size, etc., or if bananas are raw, with one serving, etc
.
20
Then, we can simply Add Ingredients or Edit Ingredients
.
21
If we are happy with that, we go to the top right corner again and tap on the arrow to proceed
.
22
We will get back now to the place where it shows the nutritional value
.
If all looks okay, the Calorie count is okay and everything else, we can tap on "More Nutrition Facts" to bring up all the details.
23
Let's press the blue "Save" button on the bottom left or press the black "Save & Log It" button in the bottom right
.
That means that the recipe will be available for other people as well. Let's just press "Save" for now.
24
The screen will say "Saving Recipe" - it is loading
.
25
When the recipe is saved, it will be there for us - as we can see
.
Let's tap to select and press the check icon on the top-right corner. The recipe is now in food for today.
26
Although this was a bit of an extreme case with nearly 2,200 calories, the diary shows now that I am over my limit - this is just an example
.
27
We can go to the bottom left-hand corner with the picture of the house to go back to our Home page
.
Here we are, back where you began.
