Steps

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards

Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen. At the bottom, we will see icons, and this is the area we need to focus on right now.

To open the applications folder, press the icon that looks like a grid of white dots located in the middle at the bottom

Find and tap on the calendar application, which is located at the top of the screen

We can see that there is an icon of a calendar and underneath it says the word "Calendar".

Tap on the white "+" icon located in the blue bar at the top towards the right side to create an event

Tap on the icon at the top of the screen that looks like a gray silhouette of a head and shoulders

This will take us to our contact list of people we have already added to the contacts on the HTC One M8.

Tap on the box located on the right side of a contacts name to select them for an invite

We have a list of our names here, and we can select multiple people at once. The box will turn blue with a white check mark inside, indicating that the contact has been selected.

Tap on "Done" in the bottom-right corner of the screen when we're finished selecting the people we'd like to invite
.
As we can see, there is a number next to the word "Done" in parenthesis and it indicates the number of contacts we have selected to add to this event. We will now see the names of the people who are invited listed on the event page.
