To begin, we'll unlock the phone by pressing the top right-hand side Power button

Then we'll swipe up one time to reveal the home screen

In this demonstration we already have a "Gmail" icon on the home screen
.
It is a white envelope with a red "M" on the front of it.

If the "Gmail" icon is not on the home screen, we can find it through the "Apps" menu by pressing the icon in the bottom right-hand corner

It is a gray box with set of white squares inside of it.

For now, we will just open "Gmail" directly from the home screen by tapping on the icon on time

In order to add a new label to multiple messages, we need to press and hold on the icon just to the left of each message we want to include

This will add a check mark to the message.

We have selected "2" messages, as indicated by the check marks and the number "2" at the top of the screen

To change the label for both of these messages at the same time, we need to tap on the icon with three dots at the top right-hand corner

On the menu that appears, select "Change labels", which is the second option

We want to label these both as the same thing, so we can tap to add a check mark next to the label we would like

To remove the check mark from "Inbox", we can tap on that square
.
However, if we'd like to leave a copy of these messages in the "Inbox", we can keep that selected. This will also move the messages from our "Inbox" into the folder that we've selected as the new label.

If we're happy with the changes, we can choose "OK" at the bottom right

After we do this, we'll see that the messages have been moved

Press the lust icon with three lines in the top left-hand corner to open the menu from the left

We can go to the label, "2015 papers" to open that folder
