Add Missing Places to Google Maps with iPhone 6

Welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to add a new place on Google Maps while using an iPhone 6.


Steps

    To start, press the home button on the bottom of the phone or the power button on the right-hand side of the phone. This will bring you to the lock screen.

    Unlock the phone by sliding to the right. Enter your passcode or put your finger onto the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, if that option is enabled.

    Tap the Google Maps icon to open the application. The icon itself is very colorful with the Google "g". It has a yellow line, a green triangle, a blue triangle and a red pinpoint.

    As you can see, those colors are actually a stylized version of how the map will look. You can also see the red pinpoint, which is the place we last searched for, Trafalgar square. The Maps application will either take you to the place you last searched for or your current location. If it is showing your current location, the gray compass will be blue.

    To add a place to Google Maps, open the menu by tapping the three horizontal lines in the top left corner.

    Tap the option that is second from the bottom, "Help & Feedback".

    There are six different options here; tap the bottom option, "Send feedback".

    Tap the second option, "Add a missing place". Underneath, it says "Add a business, landmark or other public place to the map".

    Here, you can enter details regarding the place that you would like to add. Perhaps it's a restaurant, a cafe, something you own, or a landmark no one else has put in, you can add it to Google Maps. Tap "Place name" to add the name of the place.

    Tap "Street address" to search for the address.

    Tap "Mark location on map" to add the address that way.

    Tap "Select category" to choose a category. This gives you the option of shopping center, cafe, restaurant, chemist, and so on.

    Enter in a phone number by tapping "Primary phone number". A keypad will pop up.

    Tap "Official website" to enter the official website, if you happen to know it.

    When you're done with that, tap the icon in the top right-hand corner that looks like a paper plane that's pointing right. This will take you to the saved place.
