Add Exclusions in Kaspersky Total Security

Steps

The first thing you need to do is open Kaspersky Total Security
.
The icon for the program is on the desktop in this tutorial.

Then, click the gear-shaped icon in the lower-left corner of the window

When you hover over this icon, it will read "Settings".

On the left side of the window in the "Settings" menu, click "Additional"

On the right side of the window, click "Threats and Exclusions"
.

When "Threats and Exclusions" opens, click the "Configure exclusions" link near the middle of the window
.
A new window will open.

In the window, you can add applications by clicking "Add"

The "Add" button is on the lower right-hand side of the window.

Then, locate the file or folder by clicking "Browse"

For this tutorial, "This PC" is expanded by clicking it
.

Next, "Local Disk (D:)" is expanded
.

Now, scroll through to find an ".exe" file
.
For this tutorial, "GambiChess.exe" is chosen.

When you've selected the ".exe" file, click "Select" at the bottom of the "Browse" window

In the next section, you can check or uncheck "Protection components"
.
For example, if you uncheck "File Anti-Virus", then the program will not be added to the "File Anti-Virus" exclusion list.

To exclude all of the components, check all of the "Protection components:" options

You can add a comment in "Comment:"

For this tutorial, let's type "it's a chess installation" into the text box.

Now, under "Status", you need to click "Active" or "Inactive"

If you choose "Active", the exclusion will be active. If you choose "Inactive", the program will appear in the list; but it will not be excluded.

When you have made all of your changes, click "Add" at the bottom of the window
