Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to start importing clips to your timeline in Corel VideoStudio X8, as well as adding other existing clips that are within the program.

Steps

  1. 1
    The first thing we want to do is to import a video, so we'll click on "File", then hover the mouse over "Insert Media File to Timeline"
    .
    We're going to import a video, but we can also add pictures for a nice slideshow.

    Find a video and click "Open"
    .
    Once the clip is added, we can start to put layers on it if we want.

    For example, we'll add music by clicking on the "Media" icon

    Click on a clip and press the play icon to listen to it

    If we like it, we can left-click it and drag it to the music line in the timeline

    We can shrink it to the video length by clicking on the edge and dragging it to the left
    .
    We don't want the music to be longer than the video because it would be blackness on the screen with music.

    We're going to click on "Project" then play it to preview it

I have version 9 do you work with that need to add to timeline?

I have an established timeline...took lots of time and work.... Now I want to enter a video or photo...should not matter....into the middle/end/beginning of my time line...... I want the full video in and I want the rest of the time line to move to allow the video to fit in.. . Every time I try to drop and drag a clip into the time line.....software does not allow the addition.... The video only showed 1 addition to time line I have an established time line say 50 entries of photos ad videos. need to add a 3o second video between a photo and video the software does not permit this task do you know a way?
