Add APN settings on an AT&T Aircard Hotspot

Many people have had a lot of problems when configuring a WiFi hotspot provided by AT&T, using the Aircard made by Sierra Wireless. Every Internet service provider or network provider has their own settings.

Set-Up Instructions

If you have the Aircard, follow the instructions below to complete your setup:

    Contact AT&T and ask for the following information
    :
    • Active.
    • Name.
    • APN.
    • Username.
    • Password.
    • Authentication.

    Connect the WiFi Hotspot on your computer with a USB cable
    .
    It's always best to use the actual cable that came with your device.

    Launch an Internet browser

    Access 192.168.1.1 The default username is "attadmin." You can also take the battery out of the device to get the default username.

    Once you are logged in, click the settings on the left hand side

    On the list of tabs, click on "Network"

    Now click on the "APN" tab and fill all fields with the necessary information from AT&T, such as active, name, APN, username, password and authentication

    After adding those, click the "+" symbol to add

    Click home on the left hand side and click on connect under the connection details

    Wait for a couple of seconds until the button shows "Disconnect", which means that you are connected

AT&T UNITE-177 SET UP AS ADMINISTRATOR?

I was reading up on this. I have a ATTunite-177f WiFi

I am not sure which model you have from AT&T hotspot. Upon checking the AT&T Unite 177t, it shows that is related to the AT&T Aircard 770S. Anyhow, let me give you the steps so you can change the administrator password for your AT&T Hotspot.

    Make sure that your Hotspot has sufficient power (least 10%) or let it connect to the computer via USB cable in order for it to stay powered.

    Check the IP address of the AT&T Unite Hotspot you have, as all of them come with different IP address.

For Windows computer

    Click Start.

    Go to Control panel.

    Go to Network and internet or Network connections and or Network and Sharing Center.

    On the left hand side, go to "Change Adapter Settings" (Windows 7 and 8) or Manage network connections for Window Vista

    Right click for the LAN or Wireless network connection to which you are connected from the hotspot then tap on "Status".

    On the status, look for the "Details" button and click.

    Take note of the IPv4 Default Gateway, as it's the access address to get into the setting.

    Go to the TCP/IP Tab and take note of the IP address
    .
    If you see the IP address as 192.168.1.43 or 192.168.0.22 change the last value to 1, so it will be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1

    Open your and put the IP address in the URL box and you should be able to see the AT&T login page

    Normally, the password is just "attadmin", all in lower case.

    You may also take the back cover off the device as the battery has a label on the back of it, with it printed there
    .
     
    1. Once you login to the page of your AT&T unite 177, look for the option that says "Settings" and click to enter or look for the General.
    2. You should be able to see two pieces of information on screen; one that says "Unite Manager and Admin Login".
    3. If you want to change the password, just change the Admin login to something that you want.
    4. The Unite Manager has nothing to do with the access, you can simply ignore it.

    After you change the settings just click "Submit"

    You'll get kicked off so you can enter the new password.
